Features & UX/UI Ideas for iPhoneOS

Using a smartphone became an integral part of almost every Earthling these days (at least in the developed regions of Earth).

iPhone which is running on an operating system called iOS, is one of the popular smartphones out there.

Here is my take on some features or UX/UI ideas that can be helpful to have in Version 16: (I also created some photos/videos to illustrate some of the ideas, attached in between).

  • When force tapping an app, the menu includes: “App info & Settings”, when tapped it would flip the app icon and enlarge it simultaneously, to a window size showing the specific app info with storage, offload, delete, and all other settings and permissions for that app (illustration included).

  • A toggle in the Settings that assigns a specific Focus to the physical silent mode button (illustration included).

  • Copy and Paste buttons at the bottom of the keyboard (illustration included).

  • Remove system cache – which becoming excessively a problem lately, taking storage over 60GB (illustration included).

  • Scheduled messages and emails (illustration included).

And many more:

  • Redesigned Phone app with more details, data about calls and etc…
  • Search in specific conversation in Messages, and more search filters.
  • Polls in Messages (Group conversations).
  • Settings shortcut in Control Center.
  • Time left to sleep – when there is an alarm while on sleep mode.
  • Bring back the Notification Pull Twice to Dismiss.
  • Notifications of 3rd party apps to Watch should have “deliver silently” option.
  • Give names to Watch faces.
  • Schedule using a specific Watch face according to Focus.
  • When tapping to make a call, and it is a late hour, then show a pop-up to confirm that you want to make a call (and it is not a “mis-tap”).
  • Multiple volume indicators, for each app that is playing audio, and a main volume indicator.

Apple is reading, but will they be implementing? We will find out at WWDC.

What is Time?

Have you ever asked yourself this question? did you think about it? maybe you should take a minute or a day or two to think about it before resuming your reading here.

Time is created when events happen, Time is the consequence (you can even say the “side effect”) and not the main factor (or element) here.

The only way it is possible to perceive or define Time is if things occur, then we can distinguish that X happened before Y, and Y happened before Z.

(X, Y, and Z – themselves can even be for example 1pm, 2pm, and 3pm… doesn’t have to be some “human” events).

And for example: if we are at Y now, then X is past in Time, and Z is future in Time. But if neither X, Y, or Z.. happened ever… then Time was never created, because Time was only the reaction (or the aftermath / the product) of things happening.

So… Time is created and not something that exist “infinitely” (I know using “infinitely” here is a bit controversial even for me).

And when we say for example: “the Time is passing”, it implies that time (from the future) existed from before we got to it, and then we arrived to it and then it passed… but it is not correct.

Time is actually getting created at exactly the same moment (or instant) that it happens.
